Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

NomNomBear ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by NY STUDIO, a sole proprietorship registered in Kazakhstan. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the NomNomBear mobile application ("the App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Account Information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from the respective service. If you use the App without signing in, we create an anonymous account with no personal information attached.

Photos. When you use the camera or photo gallery feature to generate a recipe, the photo you take or select is sent to our servers for processing. Photos of saved recipes are stored on our servers. Photos are not collected or stored unless you actively use the recipe generation or save feature.

Recipes and Content. When you save a recipe, the recipe content (name, ingredients, instructions, nutritional information) and associated photo are stored in your account. When you choose to publish a recipe to the community feed, your display name, profile photo, and recipe content become visible to all App users.

Camera Settings. Your camera preferences (cooking skill level, dietary restrictions, serving size, time constraints) are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you generate a recipe using ingredients mode.

Information Collected Automatically

Device Identifiers. We use Firebase Authentication to create and manage your account, which generates a unique user identifier. This identifier is shared with our subscription management service to link your account to your subscription status.

Usage Data. We may collect basic usage information such as app launches and feature usage to improve the App. We do not use third-party analytics services within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

Recipe Generation. Your photos are processed by artificial intelligence services to identify dishes or ingredients and generate recipes. This is the core function of the App.

Account Management. Your account information is used to authenticate you, manage your saved recipes, and display your identity on the community feed when you choose to publish.

Subscription Management. Your account identifier is shared with our subscription management provider to verify your subscription status and process your subscription.

Community Feed. When you choose to publish a recipe, your display name, profile photo, and recipe content are displayed to all users of the App. Publishing is always optional and requires your explicit action.

Service Improvement. We may use aggregated, non-identifying information to improve the App's features and performance.

3. Third-Party Services

Your information is shared with the following third-party services, each of which is necessary for the App to function:

Google Firebase (Google LLC). Provides authentication services. Receives your name, email, and profile photo when you sign in with Google or Apple. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.). Provides artificial intelligence services for recipe generation. When you use the camera feature, your photo is sent to OpenAI's API for content moderation, food identification, and recipe generation. OpenAI processes the image to generate a recipe and does not retain images submitted via API beyond the time needed to process the request, in accordance with their data usage policies. Governed by OpenAI's API Data Usage Policy.

Amazon Web Services (Amazon.com, Inc.). Provides cloud infrastructure for our backend servers, image storage, and content delivery. Photos of saved recipes are stored on AWS servers and delivered through AWS CloudFront. Governed by the AWS Privacy Notice.

MongoDB Atlas (MongoDB, Inc.). Provides database services for storing your account data, recipes, and app content. Governed by MongoDB's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.). Manages subscription status and purchase verification. Receives your account identifier and subscription information. RevenueCat does not receive your personal information (name, email, photos). Governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Apple App Store / Google Play Store. Processes subscription payments. We never receive or store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google.

4. AI-Generated Content

Recipes generated by the App are created by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Nutritional information is approximate and should not be relied upon for medical or dietary decisions. Recipes may not account for all allergens — if you have food allergies or sensitivities, always verify ingredients independently before preparing any recipe. The App is not a substitute for professional nutritional, dietary, or medical advice.

5. Community Feed and Public Content

The App includes a community feed where users can share recipes publicly. When you publish a recipe to the feed, your display name and profile photo (as provided by your Google or Apple account) become visible to all users of the App, along with your recipe content including the photo, ingredients, instructions, and nutritional information. Other users may save copies of your published recipe.

You can unpublish a recipe at any time, which removes it from the community feed. Copies already saved by other users will remain in their accounts. Publishing is always optional — you are never required to share recipes publicly to use the App.

6. Data Storage and International Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed in the European Union, the United States, and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws. We ensure that all third-party service providers maintain appropriate security measures and data protection standards.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your account and authentication data, all saved recipes and associated data, and your subscription record are permanently deleted. Images stored on our servers are removed through our regular maintenance process. If you uninstall the App without deleting your account, your data remains on our servers until you delete your account.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information: you can view your account information and saved recipes within the App; you can delete your account and all associated data through the Profile tab (this action is permanent and cannot be undone); you can update your profile information through your Google or Apple account settings; and you can unpublish recipes from the community feed at any time.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights or for any privacy-related questions, contact us at the email address listed below.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication through Firebase, and access-controlled cloud storage. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
